From Hazleton PA Newspaper, Fri. May 15, 1936:
Mrs. Charles Henry Altmiller of 562 North Locust street, died at her home at 10:05 am yesterday, after an illness of eight days. Mrs. Altmiller was formerly Miss Annie Louise Crawford of McKeesport, Pa. She attended the public schools there, and was graduated from the Fairmount School in Washington. Since coming to Hazleton, she was a member of the Christ Lutheran church and was active in Y.W.C.A., Girl Scout and Garden Club activities. Besides Mr. Altmiller, one son, Charles Henry Jr., survives. In Pittsburgh, her mother, Mrs. Bertha Fredericka Crawford and two brothers, Dewees Nicholas Crawford and Frederick Rufus Crawford survive. Mr. Altmiller served last year as president of the Hazleton Chamber of Commerce. Funeral arrangements have not been completed, pending plans to take the body to McKeesport for interment.
