Jesse Chipman was the son of Amos and Sarah (Daggett) Chipman of Salisbury, CT. He served in the Revolutionary War as described below. His detailed application for a military pension can be found on Ancestry.com. In 1779, he married Mary White, also of Salisbury. They lived in Cornwall, Vermont, then in Malone, NY, where he died in 1841. A new (replacement?) gravestone was installed in 1915 (see attached article about the ceremony). His wife Mary died in 1851 (see her obit attached to her memorial).
