Martha Ann Colvard was the daughter of John Stokely Colvard and Sarah Sallie Gibson Colvard of Elbert County, Georgia.

On January 9, 1838 Martha A. Colvard married Nathaniel B. Booth in Elbert County, Georgia (Elbert County Marriage Book, 1835-1854, p. 41). They were married by C.W. Christian, J.I.C.

Martha and Nathaniel had eight children: Francis "Fanny" A., William Absalom, Sarah E., Synthia Ann, John Gibson, Chappell Benjamin, D.T. and Nathaniel Sylvester Booth.

The Booth family moved from Elbert County to Cobb County sometime between October 1869 to August 1870.

Sometime in the years after Nathaniel's death, Martha received a widow's pension and she lived with her son, John Gibson and his family at East Point, GA. This is the location where she later would pass away from. She was buried next to her husband in Gresham Cemetery, Kennesaw, Cobb County, GA.

The remains of Mrs. Booth, who died at East Point, were brought here on last Thursday and buried in Gresham Cemetery.
