Excerpt -- Homer Menear, 84, of Rt. 3, Grafton, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 1977, at 9:45 a.m. at his home following a long illness. He was born in Taylor County on March 25, 1893, a son of the late James and Evangeline Shackelford Menear. His first wife was the late Goldie McCartney Menear. He is survived by his wife, Rena Summers Menear; two sons, H. L. Menear of Baltimore, Paul J. Menear of Bridgeport; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Marie) Billmeyer, Mrs. George R. (Linda) Peters, both of Grafton; two brothers, Clarence Menear of Grafton, and Guy Menear of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. Etta Bolyard of Cambridge, Oh.; eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, and nine step-grandchildren. One son died in infancy, and one brother, Lawrence Menear, also preceded him in death. He was a former Buick dealer in Grafton for several years, and was a retired farmer. Interment in the Evansville Cemetery.
