Daughter of Levin Oliver and Sophia Barnett, who are also buried here. She was born in Caldwell Co. Kentucky and married Miles B. Davis there on January 4, 1836. They came to Fannin County Texas in the late 1840's. They had 8 children that I know of. All the boys were deaf/dumb/"idiotic". I suspect they had Norries disease which is genetic and almost always only impacts males. The child could be born blind, then develop retardation up the 5 years old; can go deaf all the way up to mid age. Mary Evaline cared for them until her death, then Mary Melissa Davis Rogers cared for them in her home. One can only imagine how difficult it must have been.
