Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late William Mitchell and Addie Walker Crymes Sr. He was retired from the Kendall Company, a member of the Pelzer Lions Club, a Melvin Jones Fellow and for 15 years a director and advisor of Anderson County Social Services. Mr. Crymes was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and served as Treasurer for 40 years. For 13 years he served as Sunday School Superintendent and was Director of the Adult Sunday School Department and the Joymakers Seniors Citizens Group.
Surviving are his wife of the home; daughter, Kay C. Smith of Belton; three sisters, Mary Moody of Pelzer, Beatrice Davis of Williamston, Sarah Farrow of Fountain Inn; granddaughters, Ginger and Joey Carter of Williamston, Wendy and Donnie Nix of Fountain Inn; great-grandchildren, Evan Carter and Madeline Carter.
He was predeceased by a sister, Lois Bannister and brothers, "C.B." Crymes, Hubert Crymes and Jas C. Crymes.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy Slatten and Donnie Padgett officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home and will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gray Mortuary.
