HEART ATTACK FATAL

Wilbert Tatman, Well Known Business Man for Years, Passes Monday

Wilbert Tatman, who would have been 78 years old March 13, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home, 1356 North Waco, Monday afternoon.

He was prominent in the Oatville neighborhood and in North Wichita, where he had worked and been in business for several years.

Tatman was born in Sussex county, Delaware in 1864. He came to Oatville in 1889 to enter the mercantile business with his brother, John. In 1896 he moved to Wichita where he went to work for the Jacob Dold Packing company. In 1901 he entered the grocery business for himself. He built the residence and store building at 1356 North Waco in 1910. In 1925 he retired.

He was a member of St. Paul's Methodist church in which he was active until he died.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Tatman; one son, Wilbert Cooley Tatman and two grandsons, 805 Porter; one sister, Mrs. Charles A. Franklin, 605 North Broadview.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Cochran mortuary.
