He was born March 25,1934,in the Dabney community,son of Irene Hunter Aker and the late Herald Aker. He was a U.S.Air Force A/1C[P]veteran of the Korean War and a communications technician for South Kentucky Communications. He was a mwember of the Flat Lick Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Bernice Randall Aker,whom he married December 7,1957;his mother ,Irene Aker;a son Dennis Aker,Shopville;four brothers,Geroge William [Hazel],Sicence Hill;Rev.David Douglas [Wanda],Somerset;Stephen Hunter[Donna],Science Hill;Michael Dale[Lesa],Science Hill,two sisters Emily Ester [Rick],Kayelin,Wisconsin; Mary Catherine David,San Antonio , Texas,six nephews and nine nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father,Herald Aker,and a sister ,Judy Ellen Aker.
Funeral services wil be at 1p.m. SATURDAY ,September 24,at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with the Rev.Gerald Ashley officiating.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery,Somerset, with military honors by Americian Legion Post No.38.
