Michael F. Auman, 52, of Clearfield went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 24, 2009.

He was born on August 3, 1956 in Stuttgart, Germany the son of Franklin B. and Mary V. (Long) Auman.

Mr. Auman was a 1974 graduate of Penn Valley Area High School, and a 1978 graduate of Slippery Rock University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology.

He had been employed with Gannett Fleming, Inc. of Clearfield for the past 8 years as a Professional Geologist. Prior to that he had been employed by Hess and Fisher Engineers of Clearfield. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God where he had served as a board member and treasurer. He played guitar on the worship team and was also a Sunday school teacher and youth leader.

Mr. Auman was a member of the Geological Society, had served as chairman of Clearfield Boro Planning Commission, was a member of the Clearfield Soccer Association where he had coached many soccer teams over the years. He had been a certified soccer referee and coached as an assistant coach for the Clearfield Area High School for 11 years. He was also a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

He is survived by his wife Kim L. (Boone) Auman whom he married on July 14, 1979 at the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church, three sons: Timothy M. Auman and his wife Kelly of Harrisburg, PA, Curtis L. Auman of Slippery Rock, PA and Mark B. Auman of Lock Haven, PA, a brother Rick L. Auman and his wife Peggy of Oak Hill, VA, a sister Pamela R. Righter and her husband Mark of State College, and father-in-law Daniel Boone and his wife Joyce of Spring Mills, PA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Phyllis Boone.

Funeral Services will be held at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Clearfield on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 11 AM with the Rev. Tony Searles officiating. Interment will be in Farmers Mills Union Cemetery, Gregg Township, Spring Mills, PA.

Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 6-9 PM and on Wednesday at the church from 10 AM until the hour of services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Missions Fund, P.O. Box 704, Clearfield, PA 16830 or to the Clearfield Bison Soccer Scholarship Fund, C/O Tom Mohney, 2831 Washington Ave., Clearfield, PA 16830.
