Carl Joseph Marks was the son of William Henry and Rebecca C. (Bushong) Marks. He married (1) Sylvia B. Miller (Jan 1927) and (2) Margaret Adair (Mar 1, 1930).

Obituary:
Carl Marks, 81, of Sturgis, Michigan, died Friday, July 8, 1977 in the Sturgis Memorial Hosptial following an extended illness.
He was born in LaGrange County July 5, 1896, the son of William Henry and Rebecca (Bushong) Marks.
Marks, a retired farmer, moved to Sturgis 2 years ago from LaGrange County, Indiana.
He was married January 16, 1927 to Sylvia B. Miller, who preceded him in death May 22, 1928. His second marriage took place in Goshen March 1, 1930 to Margaret Adair, she survives.
Also surviving are five daughters: Mrs. M. K. (Irene) Shoup of Howe, Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Bolender and Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Lance, both of Sturgis, Michigan, Mrs. John (Doris) King of Burr Oak, Michigan, and Mrs. Marge Toth of Oregon, Ohio; two sons, Carl Jr. of Sturgis and Frank of Toledo, OH; 17 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Norman (Byrl) Dodge of Kokomo.
A son, William Walter; a brother and 3 sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Shoup Funeral Home of Howe with Rev. Edward Boase officiating.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange.
