He was the former Librarian at St. Michael's College in Vermont. In 1967, he attended graduate school in Library Science at the Catholic University in Washington, D.C.
He was the son of the late Joseph S. & Anna (Schreiber) Popecki.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jeanne Popecki; their children, Dr. Judith Holmgren and her husband, David; Matthew Popecki of Pennsylvania, Mark Popecki and his wife, Carolyn Singer, both of New Hampshire, and John Popecki and his wife, Maureen, both of Alaska; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Interment followed Mass of Christian Burial conducted at the St. Mark Catholic Church, Burlington, VT, Saturday, January 19, 2008.
