Albert C. Abbott, 75, Merrill, died Thursday in Medford.

He was born May 7, 1906, in Blackwell, Arkansas, and moved to Arkansas in a covered wagon as a child.

As a young man he was a mechanic in Siloam Springs, Ark. There he met and married Alma Daniels on June 2, 1932.

He moved to Merrill in 1943 where he worked harvesting potatoes, as a carpenter and as a grain mill operator at Cargil Feed Mill in Merrill.

Mr. Abbott retired from Pacific Supply Cooperative in Klamath Falls in 1971. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, arrowhead hunting and was an avid woodcutter. He recently helped build the Merrill Baptist Church.

Survivors include the widow, Alma B. Abbot, Merrill, daughters, Alene Forney, Alice Fay Scala, Kan Ann Roller, all of Klamath Falls, grandchildren Cecil Forney, Nicholas and Karen Scala, Damon and Dulcey Roller; great grandsons, Cameron and Ryan Forner; a brother Eddy Abbott; sisters, Frieda Beechamp, Arkansas; Dolly Pedroza and Wanda Penock, both of California; also numerous other relatives.

Mr. Abbot was preceded in death by a granddaughter Denise Forney, in 1979.

Graveside servies will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jonnie Gresham officiating.
