Gladys Lewis Hickman, of Winnabow, NC, died Thursday, October 27, 2005, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Wilmington, NC, May 23, 1923, daughter of the late David Burbanks Lewis and Clara Gore Lewis.
Surviving is her husband, George Rotha Hickman; children, Tim Hickman and wife Sylvia, Lana Williams and husband Danny, Marsha Lineberger and husband Tom, Wana Batson and husband Harry, and Edsel Hickman; grandchildren, Tim Hickman Jr. and wife Wendy, Mark Lineberger, Matthew Lineberger, Byron Batson and Tammi Batson; great-grandchildren, Samatha Hickman, Lacey King and Lee Gordan; and a brother, Banks Lewis Jr. A daughter, Rita Marlene Hickman preceded her in death, also two sisters, Leola Pettingill and Joyce Lewis Costin.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2005, at Mill Creek Baptist Church by Dr. Lamar Brooks, Rev. Tom Lineberger, Dr. Johnny Ross and Rev. Avery Lumsden. Interment will follow in Willetts Cemetery, Winnabow, NC.
