After graduation from Bryant Central High School, Lois moved to Long Beach, CA and worked for McDonnell Douglas and lived with her sister. In Long Beach, she met her husband, Earl Jolibois, who was serving in the U. S. Navy. They were married in Pasadena, TX in November 1945. That marriage was blessed with two sons and one granddaughter. Lois was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church and her community. She loved to run and won several awards in local competition. Lois passed after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimers. She is survived by her sons Roy Jolibois and wife Bonnie, and Wayne Jolibois and wife Anne; granddaughter Tracie and husband Joe Hartsfield; sisters Margaret Michaels and Doris Black; and brother Richard Sommers. She was predeceased by her husband Earl; sisters Irene Owen and Verna Beeton; and three brothers Sherman, Elmer, and Duane Peterson. She was loved by nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, and her many friends.
Lois's husband Earl was born September 14, 1921 in Port Arthur, TX and spent most of his life in Houston. He enlisted in the U.S. Naval Service on July 13, 1942, served on the U.S.S. Mississippi during World War II, and received honorable discharge on October 25, 1945. Earl retired from Southwestern Bell after 35 years of service.
