Graveside funeral services for Joyce Brister-Barnes-Ginter, 65, of Petal, were held Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, from the Lewis Chapel Cemetery in Wayne County, with the Rev. Thurston Harris officiating.
Born May 7, 1943, and a native of Waynesboro, she was a homemaker.
She died at her residence in Petal on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009.
Survivors include her companion, Edward Ginter of Petal; two sons, Allen Woods and wife Becky of Houston, Texas, and Robert Barnes and wife Maria of Tomball, Texas; two daughters, Darlene McKee and husband Darien of Livingston, Texas, and Lara Barnes of Petal; three brothers, Dale Dossett and wife Ruth of Laurel, John Stanley and wife Kathy of Austin, Texas, and Joe Stanley and wife Linda of Harrisville; a step-brother, Thomas Stanley and wife Barbara of Koontz, Texas; two sisters, Linda Sexton and husband Gary of Madison, and Gloria Westmoreland and husband Wade of Shivers; a step-sister, Ann Spartman and husband Lee of Ovett; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of arrangements.
