Robert Dewey Ball, 72, of Huron, was fatally injured Wednesday in a car-train accident at Beaver Creek Crossing, 10 miles west of Mitchell.
Born Feb. 26, 1926, in Lawrence County,
Son of Dewey and Faye (Lewis) Ball.
Retired from Simpson Trailer Service.
Graduate of Huron High School,
Air Corps veteran of World War II,
Member of American Legion Cecil C. Martin Post and the Huron Cemetery board.
Survivors include:
1 daughter, Ann Dee Nicholson of Huron;
1 sister, Naomi Landreth of Mitchell;
Mother of Mitchell;
2 grandchildren
1 great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by:
Wife, Marjorie (Sheeks) Ball, in 1978.
Services at Chastain Funeral Home in Mitchell with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating.
Burial at Huron Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9107.
