Dies At Creston
4 April 1947 (Special)

Mrs. G. D. Clark, 74, well known Creston resident, passed away at 10:45 p.m. last evening at the Creston Hotel.

As Jeanette THOMPSON, she was born 28 March 1873, in Marshall county, Ill. When a young girl she came to Creston to visit relatives & has lived here ever since. She went to work in the Creston Hotel & there she met Mr. CLARK. They were married 14 February 1892 and for 28 years lived on a farm between Creston and Leigh. They sold their farm and moved to Creston where for the past 24 years, they have operated the Creston Hotel, succeeding Mr. Clark's parents.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the Highland Lodge Kensing Club, Woman's Club, Presbyterian Church, having been one of the first members to establish the church here.
She is survived by her husband, 1 son, Laverne CLARK of Omaha; 2 daughters, Mrs. Camden (Ida) MORAN, Des Moines, Iowa and Mrs. Pete (Violet) ZACEK of Sioux City, Iowa, 12 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren.
