From "The History of Marlboro" about David:
"A man of decided talents, energetic in character. Engaged in early life as a school teacher. He was prominent in church and town...holding office as Deacon, and from time to time principal offices of the town. A representative in the General Court and Justice of the Peace. He ran for Congress on the Abolitionist Ticket."

1. Lucy Thurston Goodale: Born in Marlborough, Massachusetts, on August 8, 1820. She attended one or more schools in Marlborough before entering Mount Holyoke Female Seminary in March, 1838. Goodale was a student at Mount Holyoke until July, 1840 and is considered a non-graduating member of the Class of 1841. She died in Marlborough on August 26, 1840, probably from typhoid fever contracted during the commencement exercises at Mount Holyoke.
2. David B. Goodale (lived at Goodale Farm, Marlboro, MA)
3. Warren Goodale m. Ellen Rebecca Whitmore (died in childbirth in Hawaii) b. July 2, 1826, Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. d. Feb 22 1897 (aged 70) Honouliuli, Honolulu County, Hawaii
children: William Whitmore Goodale, Mary Goodale, Charles
Warren Goodale, David Goodale, Ellen Chamberlain Goodale
(David's twin). Ellen Whitmore died in childbirth. William, Mary
and Charles stayed in Hawaii with their father Warren. David and
Ellen were sent to Marlboro, MA where they were raised by their
Uncle David B. Goodale and his wife, Esther Cass.
