She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University at Buffalo, NY on 5/20/1989. Char worked as a registered nurse at Kenmore Mercy Hospital for 8 years, retiring in 1997. A sports enthusiast, she was a devoted fan of the Buffalo Sabres and the Buffalo Bills. She enjoyed skiing locally and in Colorado and Switzerland. She was a resident of Alden NY from 1962 to 1980 and then moved to Amherst NY.
