Alfred E. Turner

Services will be at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan.9th here at Fir Lawn Mortuary. Interment will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Jan.12th at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland,Oregon.
Mr. Turner was born in Tucson, Ariz., a son of Jack R. and Beatrice Hoppen Turner.

When he was old enough he joined the U.S. Navy, and became an avionics electrician and instructor. He retired from the Navy after 22 years of honorable service.

He married Barbara Ann Emery and in 1968 they moved their family to Hillsboro, where he eventually became an instructor at Portland Community College.

He attended Hillsboro's brookwood Baptist Church and Evergreen Christian Center. To the end, he enjoyed talking and being with his children, granchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, less than a month before his own.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Adrian and Darlene Turner, Andrew Turner and Allen and Tracy Turner; his daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Scott Fischer; a brother; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
