Laura A. Abbott, 89, Springfield, MO, former resident of Neosho, MO, died on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 at Elfindale At The Manor, following a short illness. Laura was born Nov. 12, 1919 in Hastings, NE, the daughter of August and Lena (Rush) Bragg. She lived in Neosho prior to moving to Springfield in 1994, and resided in the Elfindale Retirement Community. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church. Laura is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert O. Abbott, who preceded her in death in 1983. She is survived by one brother, Ron Bragg, Carthage, MO; three sisters, Dorothy Brown, Neosho; Margie Cooper, Hoisington, KS and Joy Crocker, Springfield, numerous loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and was a mother to all. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers, Leo Bragg, Raymond Bragg, Frank Bragg, Clifton Bragg and Vernon Bragg and a sister, Betty Burgard. Services will be Sat., Jan. 31, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Ron Bragg will officiate. Burial will follow in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery, Neosho. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho on Thursday from noon to 5 pm and Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
