Carlos Alexander Serrano, 21
Stabbed to death Jan. 11 at the Valero gas station in Lost Hills. As he was dying, he told an officer "Ulyses" stabbed him. That led to the arrest of 20-year-old Ulyses Aviles in what sheriff's deputies said was a gang-related killing. Aviles faces court hearings in February.

Carlos Alexander Serrano was born March 5, 1987 at UCLA Medical Center. He was raised in Lost Hills area by his grandparents since he was about 2 years old. He loved baseball and was a Green Bay Packer Fan. He had many pass times, such as riding his quad, fixing things but going fishing with his grandfather, Jose was his favorite. He was known as the family mechanic, always willing and able to tune-up family cars. Carlos was very friendly, always smiling and found at the center of attention, he was considered a leader by family members and valued his friends very much. Carlos will be missed by all, especially his grandparents Jose and Serafina Martinez. Carlos is survived by his mother, Veronica Castellanos; brothers Guillermo Castellanos and Marvin Menjivar; sister, Seyri Castellanos; grandparents, Jose and Serafina Martinez of Lost Hills and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Holy Rosary was recited Friday, January 16 at Peters Funeral Home for Carlos Alexander Serrano who passed away on January 11, 2009 in Bakersfield. Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, January 17, 2009 at St. Johns Catholic Church and interment followed at Wasco Memorial Park.
