Fred Elton Long, 85, passed away Thursday at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. He resided in Bridgeport.

A retired Ohio Oil Company pumper, he was born April 29, 1883 in Clarion County, Pa., a son of John Calvin Long and Catherine Bondhert. He was first married to Minnie Schmaulhausen, who preceded him in death, then to Abbie Lambert, who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Elton H. Long of Los Angeles, Calif., one daughter, Mrs. Elberta Morse of Champaign, Ill., and two grandchildren.

He was a member of Bridgeport Lodge No. 386 A. F. & A. M. Harmony Chapter No. 35 of Sumner, The Order of Eastern Star No. 625 of Bridgeport, Rebecca Lodge No. 32, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Sivert Funeral Home with Rev. Herschel Long officiating. Burial was in the
Price Cemetery at Russellville.
