Hazel Nolan (nee Crouse) was born to Earl V. Crouse and Mildred Crouse (nee Butterick). She was born in Massachusetts, then lived in Florida for a time. There she met and married Joseph R. Nolan,sr. of Philadelphia, Pa. They made their home in South Philadelphia. There were three children born of the marriage: Joseph,jr, Anna, and Margaret. Hazel was a homemaker during her life in Philadelphia, however was a Hotel Elevator Operator in Florida before marrying and relocating to Pennsylvania. She was a good wife and mother, and was the "glue" that held the family together. She was a comical lady who loved to play Bingo. She was a kind, patient, giving and forgiving soul. She was the backbone of the family. Hazel was always there for her children, and Grandchildren.
Hazel was diagnosed with brain cancer late in 1984, and succumbed to this disease on October 25, 1985. The love of her life, Joseph, joined her in death in 1988, of lung cancer and broken heartedness on the loss of his dearest Hazel. They are survived by Joseph,jr, Anna, and Margaret Nolan-Rios, and many Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren.
