LADSON - James Wade Bateman, 80, of Ladson, SC, husband of Martha Frances Meadows Bateman, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Trident Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 3 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be held at Dorchester Memory Gardens.

Friends may call at Parks Funeral Home Friday evening from 6-8 o'clock.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to My Sisters House, PO Box 71171, North Charleston, SC 29415.

Mr. Bateman was born August 23, 1932 in Greensboro, NC, a son of Ernest Harold Bateman and Lizzie Ellison Bateman.

Mr. Bateman was a retired Master Sargent in the United States Air Force, where he served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Martha Bateman of Ladson, SC; 1 son, James M. Bateman (Dee Dee) of Ladson, SC; 2 daughters, Cindy B. Pike (Jeff) and Sharon Tanner Tumulty (Kevin), all of Summerville, SC; 1 sister, Cheryl Blevins (Allen) of Pleasant Garden, NC; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy Brown, Grayson Pike, Heather Tanner, and Michael Bateman.

He was predeceased by his mother and father; 1 daughter, Sandra Bateman Brown; 1 brother, Jack Bateman, and 1 sister, Peggy Bateman Baker.
