She was a member of St Williams Catholic Church in Knottsville, Legion of Mary and Alter Society. She was preceded in death by her husband James Pauline Payne on March 17,1996;three sons Cyril Payne in 1981, Thomas Payne in 1981 and James Sidney Payne in 1952 and daughter Edna Marie Payne in 1938.

Survivors include five sons, Pat Payne of Sheperdsville, Vince Payne and Eddie Lee Payne, both of Knottsville, Joe Dan Payne of Clarksville Ind., and Paul C Payne of Sorgho; three daughters, Lillian Weafer Jarboe of Owensboro, Mary Ann Adams of Philpot and Regina "Jeanne" Toon of Toledo, Ohio; 69 grandchildren' 120 great-grandchildren; and a brother Joseph J.Payne of Owensboro.
