" MR. GARDNER DIES AT 79
St. Petersburg - Clarence A. Gardner of Emlenton RD3 (Turkey City), died at 6:35 am Monday in the Oil City Hospital. He was 79. He was born February 21, 1894 in Marienville, a son of Forest and Nellie Stroup Gardner. He married the former Pearl G. Klingler, who died August 5, 1955. Mr. Gardner was a retired employe of North Penn Gas Company, before which he owned and operated a barber shop in St. Petersburg. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Ruth) Smith of Emlenton RD3; one son, Arthur F. Gardner of Lamartine; five sisters, Mrs. Florence Pettit and Mrs. Fred (Margaret) Dase, both of Clarendon, Mrs. Gardner (Ida) Williams and Mrs. Grace Cole, both of Russell, and Mrs. Jack (Lillian) Campbell of Tionesta; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death. Friends may call at the Karle D. McKinney Funeral Home in St. Petersburg from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm today and Wednesday. Services will be at the funeral home at 2 pm Thursday. Interment will be in Monroe Cemetery at Knox RD1."
