The son of Andrew and Amanda Davenport, he was born at Ripley, Oklahoma. He came to Winfield at the age of 5 years old and has resided here since. On June 10, 1922 he was married to Viola Lacy at Newkirk, Okla. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors besides his widow are a son Jimmy of San Diego, Calif. and a daughter, Mrs. Irene Powell, Aberdeen, S.D.; 4 grandchildren, 3 brothers, Clarence and Theodore of Winfield and Leo of Sterling; 3 sisters, Mrs. Bessie Champlin, Indianola, Ia., Mrs. Laura Warren and Mrs. Jessie Criger, both of Winfield.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Morris funeral home.
