In the 1960's he worked in Oklahoma City where he was injured in 1965. While operating a spray painter on the job paint got into his eyes, mouth and arms. He attempted to use a respirator but it was worn out. He then told his employer he needed to see a doctor because he was spitting up blood. His claim for a job injury was denied by the State Industrial Court.
On the Dawes roll in 1902 his family was living at Eagletown in what was then Eagle County, Choctaw Nation. His mother, Leanna Franklin Lewis had died on April 19th of that year. Besides him there were his brother Solomon, Ellen, his father and his step brother Levi Tikubbi, son of his mother and Bob Tikubbi. His father Bond Louis was the son of Gilbert Louis. Another step brother Sam Tikubbi went away to a school as being deaf and dumb and did not live with his mother and the Louis family.
