Suddenly on Friday, October 21, 1988, at the Mt. Vernon Hospital, Alexandria, Va.; beloved husband of Sylvia May Shiplett of Kissimmee, Fla., father of Rebecca Harris of Andover, Mass, Jerry R. Shiplett of Alexandria, Va., John C. Shiplett of Fincastle, Va.; he is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Mr. Shiplett was a former employee of the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, D.C. Friends may call at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Cameron and No. Alfred sts., Alexandria, Va., on Wednesday, October 26 where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Interment private. Memorial contributions may be made either to the American heart Association 7203 Poplar St., Annandale, Va., or the American Cancer Society, Alexandria, Va.
