Mildred A. Haworth
On Oct. 16, 2004,
Millie was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother for the 65 years of her life. She was born on July 6, 1939, in Hardin, Montana, to Frieda and Fred Stansbury. She spent her childhood in Hardin, Billings, Belfry and Bridger, graduating from Bridger in 1957.

She married Norman Haworth, on Jan. 31, 1959, in Billings. Through their 45 years of marriage, they did many things together. They ran Karl's Shoe Store for 10 years, fished, camped, traveled and did a lot of dancing. Their faith brought them to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in 1963, where Millie belonged to Mary Martha Circle and taught Sunday School for 25 years.

Millie's passion for children and God's chosen work for her was being a daycare provider. She cared for over 500 children in her 36 years of childcare. Her gift for listening in her caring way made her a special mom, and she was loved by all.
She enjoyed her family so much that genealogy became her favorite pastime, and she also enjoyed gardening, eating spice gum drops and Russell Stover chocolates, cooking German food, baking pies and cookies and guessing her Christmas presents before she opened them.

The following poem best expresses the gratitude of so many parents:
"To the One Who Cared for My Child"
By Helen Bush
I hope you never fail to know
We're grateful as can be.
You're a most important person
To this little one and me.
You take my place when I'm not there
And yet you've never tried
To take my place in such a way
That I am pushed aside.
You always are included
Every time I kneel in prayer,
Dear One who's caring for my child
When I can not be there.

Millie is survived by her husband, Norman Haworth; sons, Jeffrey Haworth and Curtis (Sheryl) Haworth; daughter, Pamela Haworth; grandsons, Jeremy and Brandon Haworth.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Frieda Lawton; father, Fred Stansbury; and her brothers, Fred H. Stansbury and Frank Anderson.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
