OBITUARY-THE TECUMSEH CHIEFTAIN
NOVEMBER 5, 1921

DEATH OF MRS. WENZL SEIDL

Mrs. Mary C. Seidl, wife of Wenzl Seidl Sr., died at the family home in Tecumseh, at 12:30 o'clock, Friday morning, November 4, 1921. She had been in failing health for a number of years, bedfast since July 15 last, and unconscious for a number of days, and her passing was expected by the family. She was aged fifty-six years and twenty-six day.
Mary Cecelia Ullman was born in Austria and came to America when she was twenty years of age, the family locating in Pawnee county, not far from Steinauer. She was married to Mr. Seidl, at the Catholic church in Steinauer, March 8, 1886. For years the family resided on a Pawnee county farm, and Mr. Seidl went into the grocery business in Tecumseh in 1918, since which time the home has been in this city. Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Seidl, three of whom are deceased.
The living children are Gabinus W. Seidl of Omaha, Wenzl J. Seidl Jr. of Lincoln, John B. and the misses Marie and Agnes Seidl, who live at home. Joe Ullman of Steinauer is a brother of the deceased, and another brother, John Ullman, lives at Oliver, Missouri. There are no living sisters. During Mrs. Seidl's long illness her children had been with her a considerable of the time, and, with the father, had administered to her every want. She has long been a member of the Catholic church, and not a member in name only but a tireless worker in the church, and she was fully prepared for the chance she had long felt was to take place at about this time. Mr. Seidl and the children have the deepest sympathy of their friends in their bereavement.
The funeral will be held at St. Anthony's church in Steinauer, Monday morning, the hour not having been set when this paper went to press. The interment will be in the family lot in the Steinauer cemetery.
