Doctor Richmond Brownell, son. of Sylvester Brownell of Little Compton, was born in that town in 1790, and died at Providence October 29th, 1864.
Dr. Brownell never practiced in Newport county, but settled, as a physician, in Providence, and was a prominent figure there for many years, and highly esteemed. He was president of the R. I. Medical Society from 1840 to 1843.
