Connecticut First Lady. She had been married to Abraham A. Ribicoff for 23 years when he was elected governor in 1954. A graduate of Weaver High School in Hartford, Conn., and Highland Manor Junior College in Tarrytown, New York, she met her future husband at a fraternity dance at the Burritt Hotel in his hometown of New Britain, Conn. They were married on June 28, 1931. At the time of her death, her husband had been a U.S. Senator for nine years. The couple had two children. Senator Ribicoff remarried in August 1972.

Cause of death: Heart disease.
