Funeral services will be held for Susie Janet Begay on Friday, November 28, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at the LDS Church 4th Ward (435 S. Lake Powell Blvd.) in Page, Arizona. Interment will follow at the family plot in Hanging Horse, Arizona. A dinner/reception will be held at the LDS Church 4th Ward in Page, Arizona following the burial.
Susie was born June 15, 1908 near Tuba City, Arizona. She was Tsédeeshgizhnii (Rock Gap People Clan) born for the Tl'izzi³ani (Manygoats Clan). She died November 22, 2008, in Flagstaff, Arizona, surrounded by family. She was a rancher, traditional weaver, and a homemaker. Susie is remembered as a very caring, patient, and generous person. She was always willing to help a person in need. She will be remembered always and greatly missed by those who knew her.

Susie is survived by her sisters; Maybel Bighorse of Cameron, AZ , Betty Huskon of Cameron, AZ, and Lucy Kelly of Flagstaff, AZ; her brother David Nez-Tsosie of Cameron, AZ; her sons Yazzie Begay of Willow Springs, AZ, Glenn Begay (Annie Begay) of Grand Prairie, TX, John C. Begay (Ilene Begay) of Coppermine, AZ, Keith Begay (Marie Begay) of Kayenta, AZ, and Joe Begay (Shirley Begay) of Castledale, UT; daughters Shirley Lane (John Lane) of Coppermine, AZ, Pearl Benally (Emo Benally) of LeChee, AZ, Carol Manson (The Late Johnny Manson) of LeChee, AZ, Mary Bitsoie (The Late Tully Bitsoie) of Cedar City, UT, Susie Gilbert (The Late Felix Gilbert Sr.) of Seba Dalkai, AZ, and Barbara Blaser (Chuck Blaser) of Anchorage, AK. She had 57 grandchildren, 109 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Benally Begay; her father, Jerry Nez-Tsosie; her mother, Winona Sayonitso Nez-Tsosie; her brothers, Harold Granger and Neil Nez-Tsosie; her sisters, Beatrice Huskon, Bella Dugi, and Amelia Shepard.
