The News, Newport, Perry Co, PA, newspaper of Sept 21, 1899:
Southwest Saville, Sept. 18.
Mrs. Mary Wagner (nee Utley), relict of Christopher Wagner, died at the home of her son Samuel on Thursday after an illness of only a few days. Death resulted from a severe attack of dysentery, accelerated by the extreme age of its victim. The departed was sadly bereft of visionary powers some 12 years since. She was born in the township September 2, 1812 and died Thursday, September 11, 1899, aged 87 years and 12 days. She was the mother of seven children, six of whom survive, namely: Emanuel, Samuel, Jerry, Rebecca and Jane, of this township and Moses of Michigan. William, it will be remembered was killed on the railroad a few years ago. Her husband succeeded her to the great beyond 26 years ago. She was the oldest of a family of four children and the last to leave this earthly habitation. She was a member of the Lutheran church for some years and died with a hope of future welfare. Interment was made at Elliottsburg on Saturday. Peace to her ashes.

Deceased was the mother of seven children, six of whom survive her, namely Samuel, Manuel, Jerry, Mrs Rebecca ____ and Mrs Jane ____ all of this township; Moses Wagner of Michigan and William who was killed on the railroad some years ago.
