His first wife was Mary Alice Moore (1862-1894) and together they had five children (Clyde, Florance Alice, Royal Elijah - my Grandfather, Homer Evert, Frances Mary and her unnamed twin who died at birth on 20 May 1894).
He was a farmer by trade and worked hard all his life. He was found dead in his barn by relatives and friends and was laid to rest in the Whittemore/Saints/St. James Catholic Cemetery in Whittemore, Michigan.
