Reuben John Neyhouse (called Reuben) was born and raised on a farm in Indiana.

He served as a medic in the Army during World War II, The Korean War, and the start of the war in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged from the service due to a medical disability around 1964. Later he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as well as, at various times, doing some business ventures on his own.

He lost his first wife, Anna Margaret Schmit Neyhouse, in 1972 and married my husband's mother, (Lillie) Virginia Heflin Rumph on Valentine's Day 1973 at Jehoash Presbyterian Church, Catlett, Va.

Dad Neyhouse was not a big talker unless you got him going, so to speak, or unless interested in the topic of discussion; however, he did a lot always to help out us all. He also was generous with helping the church.

Dad had several brothers and sisters living in Indiana and New York (I think).

His outstanding traits were his hard work, his generosity, and his being a faithful husband, father and grandfather.
