Hazel Marie Ausherman, 92, Topeka, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at a Topeka nursing home.
Mrs. Ausherman had worked for the Woolworth's Store in Topeka and similar stores in California and New Mexico.
She was born July 1, 1906, in Topeka, the daughter of Robert E. and May VanOrsdol Neiswender. She had lived many years in California and New Mexico before she returned to Topeka in 1971.
Mrs. Ausherman was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She married Aaron Ausherman on July 16, 1927. He died Feb. 15, 1978. Mrs. Ausherman also was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Doris Jean Tilghman, Merriam; two stepgrandsons; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Ausherman will lie in state from noon to 9 p.m. today at the Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
