Jeanette Allen, 71, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2009.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Luke Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Edward and Robert Allen; five daughters, Patricia M. Bowman, Elizabeth Allen, Corsonder A. Payne, Lisa A. Smith and Barbara A. Williams; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Allen Jr.; her parents, Pauline Lyons Mitchell and Julius Mitchell; three daughters, Stella Mae Allen, Constance Marie Allen and Betty Mae A. Singleton; three brothers, Andrew Gray Jr., Cleveland and Jim Mitchell; and one sister, Willie Mae Lagarde.

She was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
