Our precious Deborah Lynn Berry was carried into the loving hands of her Father and Savior after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She leaves a wonderful legacy of love, strength, faith, and laughter. We are comforted by the thought she has been freed from her body that was causing her so much pain and has received a new body with a heavenly crown. We are looking forward to our reunion on the right side of the throne of God.

Debbie came into this world in Hanford. She spent most of her formative years in Hanford, and graduated from Hanford High School in 1979. Debbie attended West Hills College, College of the Sequoias, Abilene Christian University and graduated from Fresno Pacific University with a BA in Education.

Debbie worked for many years as a dental assistant in Hanford.

In 1989, she met the love of her life David Berry and they were married in July of 1990. She moved to Dinuba where David was ministering with the Dinuba Church of Christ. It was at that time Debbie found her passion in life, of being a wonderful wife, mother and minister's wife. She accepted this role with her usual spunk, courage and determination.

In 1997, David and Debbie moved from the treasured family of God in Dinuba to serve with the family at the Visalia Community Church of Christ who welcomed them with open arms. Again, Debbie pursued the work in Visalia with her usual passion and determination.

In addition to her work with the church, Debbie busied herself working at her children's schools and extracurricular activities. She looked forward to her daily visit at Curves where she enjoyed the exercise and fellowship. Debbie also enjoyed traveling, her craftwork and spending time with friends and family. We are sure God has put Debbie to work organizing the Heavenly reunion.

Debbie is survived by her devoted husband, David; her wonderful daughters, Becky Berry of Visalia, Tisha Birchem and her husband Brandon of Vancouver, Wash., and Kelsey Berry of Visalia; her loving parents, Anita Lyons and her husband Ron of Dinuba and Jerry Sweeney and his wife Sharon of Hanford, and Brookings, Ore.; her sweet sister, Raegan Lalli and her husband Doug of Louisville, Ky., and their sons, Issac and Elijah; also her sweet grandmother Geneva Sweeney of Los Osos. She leaves behind an extended family of in-laws and friends who loved her dearly.

A celebration of Debbie's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Visalia Community Church of Christ, 3838 S. Court St. Visalia. There will be private family burial.

If you desire, at Debbie's request, memorials can be made to the Visalia Community Church of Christ.

Arrangements are under the direction of Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel in Visalia.
