Survivors include two children, Kenneth T. Akers Jr. and wife, Lucy, and Sharon Marie Sullivan and husband, Joseph; a sister, Clara Jeter and husband, Earl; two sisters-in-law, Eloise Figart and husband, Billy, Donna Belle Jenkins and husband, Kenny; two brothers-in-law, Eugene Akers and Larry Akers and wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Jennifer and Karl Roberts, Allyson and Ethan Yost, Joyce and Patrick Cooper, K.T. and Heather Akers, Kenneth J. Akers, and Rachel Akers; great-grandchildren, Danielle Monterrubio, Torey Nelson Brown, Logan Roberts, Dylan Yost, Elaina Roberts, Seth Akers, Brianna Hailey, Shauna, Elisa, Deshawn, and Patrick Cooper; and many loved nieces, nephews, and a wonderful, very special and loved friend, Emma Sparks.
Marie worked for Reynolds Metals Company, now Alcoa, for 42 years, from where she retired in 1990. She lived a wonderful life in Powhatan for 35 years, full of love and family, and most of all, our Lord Jesus Christ. Now she is with Him for eternity.
