Joseph L. Holland, 83, Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Altoona, Pa., died Monday in Lakeland. He was born in Altoona to Maurice J., Jr. & Margaret B. (Shenefelt) Holland. Joseph married Mary Jo Dahlberg Dec. 29, 1956, in Altoona. Survived by wife; two sons: Stephen C. Holland of Falls Church, VA and Michael R. Holland of Valrico, FL; two daughters: Deborah J. Holland of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Karen M. Ingvoldstad of Vienna, VA; four grandchildren: Cpl. Hans Ingvoldstad, USMC; Nicholas Ingvoldstad; Madison Holland and Michael Holland II; a brother, William J. Holland of Alexandria, Va.; and two sisters: M. Louise Holland of Ann Arbor, MI and Nettie J. Holland of Hollidaysburg, PA; predeceased by brothers: John, Thomas and Daniel Holland; and sister, Jeanne Greiner. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lakeland, and a former member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona. Joseph retired as chief estimator and head engineer from Walter N. Yoder & Sons Mechanical Contractors after 30 years of service. He was a 1943 graduate of Altoona High School. Joseph was an Air Force veteran of WWII, serving on active duty for four years and in the reserve for 23 years, retiring as a Lieutenant colonel. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Fri., Feb. 6, 2009, at Stevens Mortuary, Altoona. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Sat., Feb. 7, 2009, at Stevens Memorial Chapel. Committal, Calvary Cemetery.
