GULFPORT --- Diana Ruth Shaw Adams, 52, of Gulfport, died Wednesday, February 23, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Adams was born in Bellefontaine, MS, and was a longtime resident of Gulfport. She was a graduate of Eupora High School and the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, where she received a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. She taught in Long Beach Separate Municipal School District and was currently vice-president at Adams Flowers, Inc., in Gulfport. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gulfport and a 5th grade Sunday School teacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen D. Shaw and Norma Ruth Hitt Shaw; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Emmett Shaw and Mr. and Mrs. William Olney Hitt.
Survivors include her husband, William Bert Adams of Gulfport; a daughter, Melissa Adams Stovall and her husband, Curt, of Fort Worth, Texas; a son, William Brent Adams of Gulfport; a sister, Janice S. Meek of Bellefontaine, MS; her stepmother, Bonnie A. Shaw of Bellefontaine, MS; her mother-in-law, Lena F. Adams of Gulfport; and a brother-in-law, John Adams and his wife, Mary Katherine, of Pass Christian.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. There will be a visitation Saturday at 10 a.m. until 12 noon at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora with a service to follow at noon. Burial will be at North Union Cemetery in Bellefontaine, MS.
