Abstract--age 82, of Newburg, died April 15 at his home. He was born Feb. 15, 1892 in Preston Co., s/o the late Thomas Henry and Virginia Haddock Shay. He was a retired employee of the B&O Railroad and a WW I veteran. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Maier Shay; two sons, Edward Shay of Kingwood and James Shay of Fountain Valley, Calf..; one brother, Willie B. Shay of Newburg; four sisters, Mrs. Daisey Shay of Largo, Fla., Mrs. Margaret Hovatter of Ohio, Mrs. Lee (Elsie) Brown of Castleberry, Fla. and Mrs. Cecilia Shahan of Clarksburg, WV. He was preceeded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Burial was in the Shay's Chapel Cemetery.
