Upton Wright Giles, Jr., MD passed away following a lengthy illness in Wauwatosa, on Thursday, August 14, 2008, at the age of 85 years. He was a 62 year summer resident of Schiele Cove, Minocqua, WI. Before retirement, he was in private practice in the New Orleans, LA area.
Upton leaves behind his wife Beth (nee Schiele) of 62 years, formerly of Glen Ellyn, IL and his three children, Upton Giles III, Richard (Sharon) Schiele Giles and Elizabeth Sonsheree (Louis) Kroening , his sister Ann Giles Butler, nine grandchildren, Kirk, Sonsheree, Jonathan, Schiele Sharee Ann, Stacy, Clint, Andrew, Rorey and Kellen, six great-grandchildren, Justin Brett, Sarah, Henry Upton, Ashley, Emerson and Hanah.
- Entered the service in 1942, served as a Gunnery Officer. Ship assigned to name was DE231, USS Hodges, served in the Pacific.
