GEORGE M. BAKER, RETIRED ARMAN, DIED FRIDAY.

Servies for George Milton Baker, 72, retired Missouri Pacific carman, are Sunday afternoon, Dec. 30, at two o'clock from a chapel of Dietrich Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Walter Dierking. Burial will be at Ware.

Mr. Baker, who retired eight years ago, died Friday morning at his home, 613 South Fourth, after long illness. He had been bedfast 14 months.

He was born Oct. 29, 1883, in Jefferson County, a son of the late Thomas Milton and Mary Caroline Maness Baker.

Mr. Baker was first married to Pauline McKean, who died as a young woman. Their only child died in infancy.

On Oct. 23, 1913, he married Mary Elizabeth O'Hara, who survives, together with five children, 21 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

The children, all residents of this vicinity, are Mrs. Thelma Christian, Mrs. Anna Kyle, Mrs. Lucy Hall, and George M. Baker, Jr., all of DeSoto, and Mrs. Mary Pullen, of near Festus.

He leaves also two sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Mabel) Wilson and Mrs. Alan (Harriet) Mitchell, and a brother, Melvin Baker, DeSoto.
