Aaron was a survivor of the Bataan Death March and was also executed/murdered while a P.O.W.
He is also listed in the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.

He was known as "Stan" while at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia, he graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. and training focused on Field Artillery.

2nd Lt. Reid Aaron served with the 27th Bomb Group (L), 48th Materiel Squadron, 5th Air Base Group, U.S. Army Air Corps (Far East Air Force)
His unit had arrived at Fort McKindley, Luzon, P.I. on 21 November 1941 from Savannah, Georgia as part of what was known as "Operation Plum", aimed at increasing the size of the air support in the Philippines.
They were aboard the USS President Coolidge.
Their aircraft did not arrive as they were diverted to Australia when the Japanese began their attacks on the Philippines.
The personnel of the 27th remained, which included 2nd Lt. Aaron, were formed into the 2nd Provisional Infantry Regiment and served as infantrymen on Bataan.
The entire unit was taken captive and forced to endure the Bataan Death March following their capture on 9 April 1942. Of the 880 or so Airmen who were taken, less than half survived captivity.

He died during the Japanese evacuation while being transferred by the prison ship Oryoko Maru which was sunk and then possibly aboard the Brazil Maru enroute from Takao, Formosa to Moji, Japan.
His date of death is listed as 21 January 1945.
