Lance Crumpacker Moore, 24, of Roanoke, Va., loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, friend and colleague; drummer, thinker, excellent dancer, chess player and great lover of life, died on Sunday, February 8, 2009, at the age of 24. Lance was born on January 17, 1985, and lived every moment of his life to the fullest. He loved with all of his heart and was deeply sensitive, caring and thoughtful. He was the person to whom people looked for comfort, security, love and laughter. This was a gift to all who knew him. Lance's sense of humor lifted spirits in any circumstance. His family, friends and colleagues are continually thankful for that laughter.

He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, percussionist in the University of Richmond Brazilian Music Ensemble and drummer in several local bands. In high school he was President of the Chess Club, first chair percussionist in the marching band drumline, member of the varsity tennis team and tutor at the Presbyterian Community Center. He was voted Best Personality in his senior class.
Upon graduation from college, Lance worked for Bon Secours Richmond Health System as a Reimbursement Analyst in Fiscal Services. Lance loved his supervisors, Gary Alston and Eddie Phibbs, and their support of his development was greatly appreciated by Lance and his family.
Lance's family would like to thank all who touched his life including MCV ICU Hospital staff who provided excellent medical care, kindness and compassion.
