Howard Curtis, Sr., age 82, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of McDowell County, Howard was born June 23, 1923 and was a son of the late Morris and Maggie Harris Curtis. He greatly enjoyed camaraderie and fun with his friends in the community. In addition to his parents, five sisters and two brothers and a step-daughter, Judy Willis, preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Helen Evans Curtis of the home; one daughter: Patricia Boyd and husband Van of Marion; two sons: Howard Curtis, Jr. and wife Vicki of Marion and Tony Curtis and wife Karen of Morganton; three step-children: David Willis of Joliet, Illinois, Ruth Igyarto and husband Louis of Fox Lake, Illinois and Stephen Wyatt and wife Gracie of Marion; one sister, Lucille Price of Ellenboro and one brother, Raymond Curtis of Marion. He is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
